I have had numerous surgeryson on my spine, many joints pinned and some replaced. Does anyone suffer the same problems. I'm in a bad way at present with a fractured sacrum. Only treatment is bed rest and pain killers. Unfortunately i have a GP who will not increase my pain relief, even though my consultant has advised it. Does anyone else suffer from this

Hello Curzon6 and a warm welcome to this community. So sorry to hear that you are in pain and struggling right now.

Difficult to know why your GP will not prescribe the pain relief your Consultant has recommended. Would it be worth another visit to your GP or perhaps ring the Consultant's secretary and explain the problem.

In the meantime (at the risk of repeating what you already know), put a cold pack on the painful area for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Try to do this 3 to 4 times a day (when you are awake!). Put a cloth between the cold pack and your skin.

When you are able to sit do not sit on hard, unpadded surfaces. Sit on a doughnut-shaped pillow to take pressure off the tailbone area.

Put only as much weight on each leg as your doctor tells you to. He or she may advise you to use crutches, a walker, or a cane to help you .

I am sure other members of this community will share if they have had similar experiences. Take care and let us know how you are getting on.

I too have had 7 surgery on my back and neck, I have an epadual every few months which helps and morph for back up pain. It's not much fun when you have a bad back.
