Laser Eye Surgery

Hi,

I am from Toronto. I am a school student. When teacher writes something on the blackboard, I feel difficulty to read it. It seems blurred to me. And I also have difficulty in seeing distant things. It becomes clear only when I go near to it. When my father took me to an eye doctor, he told that I have Myopia. I told him that I don't want to wear spectacles.

So he told me about laser eye surgery. The doctor suggested a laser eye surgery clinic in Toronto( skouraseyeandcosmetic.com/l.... Had anyone done this surgery there? Was it effective? Does it hurt? How much time is needed to recover after this surgery? Please do share your experiences.

Thanks!

Hi Reejawig, I'm afraid we aren't really the community that you are looking for. We consist of, (broadly speaking), mature British people who are taking care of loved ones in older age.

As such, I think you'd probably be better to post this question elsewhere.

With best wishes.

If ever laser surgery turns up again, I can help ,Ive had an enormous amount done by NHS in Dumfries area .Owe my sight & being able to drive still entirely to their expertise. Absolutely nothing to worry about. I have had 2 cataracts removed too, again only a little pressure on eye & lots of water over face nothing to worry about. Toofworc

Hello Reeawig I'm 82 but I can help. Amongst other problems, I am a type 2 diabetic , I have had laser surgery for atorn retina & an enormous amount for burst blood vessels in my eyes over the past few years. You do not feel a thing, only a very bright light, no pain whatsoever. The effect is immediate. I have first class eyesight with glasses, I'm still allowed to drive. I can only speak for the NHS I Great Britain, but there is nothing to worry about at all.. I have been able to drive after sessions.

Very best wishes, Bill

My daughter had it done years ago and no problems, I had lens replacement and went from -10.5 to -1.5 ! I think this may be better for older people. Apparently you can still have laser treatment afterwords! Cost was £4750 in London Harley Street or free on NHS! Both eyes were done within 3 months by NHS. Great service at East Grinstead Hospital
