hi, I've had health problems for over 25 years and it is not getting any easier.Stress is a big factor but it can't be avoided in our current society. getting advice about health concerns and worry over vulnerable family members is my priority at present to try and balance both equally difficult concerns better. i'm new to this so guidance is appreciated

Hello weasel65

I am new to this forum although been over on the Pain Concern one for years.

Full time carer to my husband for over 20 years ( blind myself for 30) find myself wearing several hats.

Do you need advice? Support? A rant? Or ....

Happy to help if I can

x

Hi weasel65,

Welcome to this really friendly and informative forum.

That's a very long time to be coping with your, or anyone else's health problems and it's really challenging.

But if you stop to think about it, you could be describing life itself! An uneven struggle to get through, usually with not enough help.

It's probably too difficult to be able to offer you any kind of advice without your telling us a little bit more about your challenges. Often knowledge about possible help varies with the problem.

But be assured that we are all here on that same highway with you. Life nowadays is very stress led. Consumer society has brought us things, but not the comforts we once had of a closer society and more time and compassion, and I doubt that we'll ever see the earlier lifestyle returning. People have become too attached to the material things in life, and it's only when it's really much too late that they see value in the simpler things that really matter.

And help and funding from official sources really is hard to access with the many financial cuts that have been introduced.

But very best wishes anyway, and I hope this forum brings you a feeling of support.

I have had M.E for over 20 years, as well as Hashimoto's. I met my husband because of M.E as he has it too. However, whilst I have improved slightly, my husband has got worse so I care for him, especially when he has migraines which he gets frequently. My father is also now in a nursing home over 100 miles away from where I live with dementia and other long term health conditions. I had to sort him out and get him into a Home as he didn't have a social worker, as well as clear his home slowly all through last year.
