hello, i am wondering if this medication can help stop the production of mucus as well as helping thin it out? I also suffer post nasal drip and since starting the tablets i am constantly choking and coughing up even more? Does anyone on this stopped coughing up so much eventually?

Hi. I've been on it for awhile now. It has certainly helped reduce my coughing and the amount of mucus coughed up.

Hi

I found that using carbocisteine actually made the mucus on my chest to loose and thin and I was coughing up more

But I know people say it’s worked for them so it varies person to person the effectiveness so it might help you

Hope the advice helps

Tom

Hello there, I take Carbocisteine 2 tablets twice a day first thing in the morning before I use my Acapella device and I repeat the same process late afternoon. It works for me. Of course i continue to produce mucus at different times and have to cough it up, but this is because of walking or what I have been eating. You just get to know yourself what you need to do.

This forum is extremely informative and supportive. Thankyou.
