Bronchiectasis, Asthma, Sinusitis Gord and Sleep apnea !

Hi fellow Bronchi's .. So nice to meet you all!

I'm from Melbourne Australia in my 50's and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis around 9 years ago. I have had Lifelong Asthma, Sinusitis with 2 surgeries, Gord (reflux), high BP, and recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea....oh joy! 🙄.

Still I do try to remain optimistic about my life, health and wellness. Had to give up work 12 months ago after a number of hospital stays. IV Tazacin inhaled Tobra and extreme fatigue. Allergic to Ciproxin - severe tendinitis. Definitely better now that I don't have to worry about taking so many sick days and always feeling guilty or worse lazy! Even though I (& most others) knew I was sick! Now I just sleep in on most days as night time is the worst for me - little and broken sleep, coughing and now sleep apnea. I feel isolated at times and really want to do and be more but have to accept the fatigue and bad days. Just rolling with it now and accepting my position definitely helps my anxiety. Some days are worse than others as I'm sure you all know and depression can rear its ugly head without warning or sleep . Still .. there is lots out there to make it better! I have a great Respiratory Physio, Specialist, Exercise physiologist and do hydrotherapy and speech therapy, Walking, breathe sea air PEP breathing, nasal irrigation, and maintenance antibiotics. Asthma Preventer, and other medications including natural to assist me day to day. My gorgeous family and my beautiful golden retriever seal the deal in keeping me sane.. most of the time . There is nothing though like finding a kindred spirit, especially in the dark hours of ill health, anxiety and sadness... So glad I found you all ! - here's to us and a medical breakthrough 😉

Hi Neesy!

All we can do is one day at a time. Having chronic illness can sure get us down. I try to be as pro-active in my recovery as I can. I have some really good days when I feel healthy and “normal “ and other days that I am exhausted and discouraged. I practice holistic medicine along with traditional. I am now eating clean. No processed foods and lots of veggies and fruits. It has helped tremendously. I spend time in the kitchen preparing fresh food and it is a good feeling . No more fast pizza and take out food.

Good luck and heath to you!
