So was diagnosed with NAFLD in August 2024, the was on the back of a pain in my rightside and bloods that showed high liver enzymes and an ultrasound, given no help or indication of severity from the doctor, just told to eat a Mediterranean diet Saw an advert for a trial on a new drug for NAFLD and free fibroscan so decided to go.
First fibroscan showed CAP score of 344 and KPA of 11.4.
This shocked me enough to cut all sugar, bad fats and unhealthy carbs from my diet.
8 weeks later I've lost 5% of my body weight and been for a second fibroscan.
Now showing CAP 361 and KPA 6.1.
I'm a little disappointed as my CAP has increased and I'm being super good.
Pleased that the KPA has reduced, however as now below 7.5 no longer eligible for this trial, which I wanted for the monitoring of my liver.
I just want to know what I'm doing is having a positive impact on my liver and be monitored to see it's going in the right direction. Feel the doctors are an absolute waste of time. Also what more I can do to bring the CAP down instead of it going up.
