Had a Liver Biopsy yesterday and an MRI Scan on my brain as I am still experiencing severe mental confusion. Been told i am going to have to wait 8 to 10 days for results. Suffice to say still not feeling great. Worse in fact. Just don't know what to do?

Hi Peter. Thanks for sharing the update. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, and I really feel for you. I can only imagine how difficult this wait must be, especially when you’re feeling worse and still have no clear answers.

I just wanted to suggest one thing that might help down the line. When your liver biopsy results come back, it could be really valuable to ask whether the sample will be reviewed by a liver pathology specialist, particularly someone with experience in non-cirrhotic liver diseases.

Sometimes, subtle but important changes — like vascular abnormalities or metabolic conditions — can be missed if the pathologist is mainly looking for cirrhosis or fat-related liver damage. Since your Fibroscan showed only minimal fibrosis but you’re having such profound symptoms, a second opinion or expert review could make a real difference.

Hang in there — you're doing everything right by pushing for answers.

Have you had vitamin b1 level checked, I have a friend who lost ability to walk and no short term memory from Wernike encephalopathy. She drank daily but liver isn't cirrhosis but had severe b1 deficiency.

I know this may sound silly, but have they tested you for a urinary tract infection? It can have serious implications for our mental wellbeing. Just a thought.

Hi Pastalover53

Gm. I am awaiting a brain scan also. The important thing is not to let it get you down, go walking, smile and greet people who passed you by.

Stay blessed hope you’re results goes well.

There’s a saying …. Once you’ve been diagnosed you won’t feel so bad.

🤞🏾
