Hi, so, just got back from doctors with my latest LFT results and to be honest am quite shocked albeit pleased.
Early Dec GT was 80, today is 27
ED Alt was 54, today is 28
ED AST was 65, today is 32.
Now, I am not counting any chickens as I have my ultrasound tomorrow afternoon which am still very anxious about. I am still clean and sober for almost 2 months now and feeling the benefit just hoping that I will get some good news as far as the US is concerned. I was wondering does anyone know if the sonographer can tell you there and then if any damage is to be seen? Sorry for being such a wuss it's just going round and round in my head.
By the way to you all, Happy New Year and wish you all peace, love, happiness and health today, tomorrow and Always.

Hi hun ! Great news 😁.your LFT is going in the right direction. Remember that liver function tests can change daily. It can be affected by food we eat or meds .. even paracetamol. Tomorrow they will find out if any lasting long term problems have occurred . Fingers crossed for you 🤞. Keep me posted. Love linda xxx
Hiya hon, I thought I had replied to you but it must have disappeared into a wormhole :), will keep you posted on the scan tomorrow, just not looking forward to fasting for 8 hours beforehand. Hey ho, onwards and upwards!!!
Lol; i blame all the naughty things i have been eating. All my scans are fasting. 6 hour's before only water with me . I take a sandwich with me to eat after as im so hungry after 😂😂.
You will be fine hun .. yes keep me posted. Love light and peace to you too xxx
Generally they won't make comment on what they are seeing on U/S at the time as it has to be studied and reported back (some operators arn't qualified to make interpretation it has to go to radiographer). No harm in asking but don't be suprised if they tell you they can't tell you anything or to await report.
Hiya Kate, thanks for that although I know I will be asking a million and one questions Will wait and see what happens, to be honest just dreading the fast until the scan, am eating such a lot these days haha.
The anxiety and stress that you are putting yourself through, will cause you more physical problems than it looks like you have with your liver. High blood pressure is a serious problem.
Yes got that too. If I hadn’t suddenly become so constipated which is the first time in my life, I would move on and try to forget. Wine drinking in the past now for me, this fear is making up for all the relaxation alcohol gave me. Several GPS have told me bloods can’t be wrong but stories on here say otherwise. Thank you for replying.
Differences in normal range for different laboratories can make it difficult to compare or comment on individual test results specifically. This is due to the different brand of tests that are used and how these are interpreted.
This forum is here to share experiences and provide support to each other and we would advise against posting any test results or asking for specific medical advice.
This is not a medical forum and should not be used to try and make diagnoses or replace advice from your own medical practitioners who have a much wider view of your health and test results.
We appreciate how worried you are and hope you can still post with regards to support and information but it is against the rules of our forum to post test results and to ask for specific medical advice,
You may find The British Liver Trust publication on liver disease tests explained useful to read. However, it really would be best to discuss your test results with your own doctors who know you best,
Ok, so I went for the ultrasound with full intention of asking every question possible, however, when I got to the surgery anxiety kicked in and I had to concentrate on that. Anyhoo, went in for the scan and was waiting for the guy to say something, however he asked me to breathe in a few times and hold, then the reverse. This was over my liver and then he asked me if I was on any medication and said the odd propanolol. Then he said do I have any pain and showed him top just under right rib. Then he proceeded to kidneys and took measurements. Then he said 'Looking good!' All I could say was, 'is it?'. At end of the procedure he told me full report would be in docs next week. I said do I have anything that I should be worrying about, he said I don't think so.
I'm not surprised about the nerves, I do that sort of thing all the time. I know what I need to do but I get in a panic or get in such a hurry to move right, breathe right etc. that I forget.
Thanks G, just another little waiting game now. Feel better in myself, it's just this nagging right under rib pain which could be a million or one things.. Patience is my virtue so will go with that
