Having just been diagnosed with mild PBC and not being on any liver transplant list, I was astonished to discover that our annual worldwide travel policy has quadrupled in cost!!
Is anyone able to recomment a travel insurance provider that is more reasonable? Especially as my condition is mild and presents with no symptoms.
Thanks in advance

Re: Holiday Insurance, 1 month ago, we had a well reply-participated post originated by LolaBow around the subject.
If you use the search box looking for:
Holiday Insurance??
- I hope you might find some helpful lived experience ideas of other avenues to research - and see if you can track down a product and provider relevant to your requirements.
I would also encourage you to read this British Liver Trust webpage about travel insurance too:
If you go online and search ' paying too much ' holiday insurance, you should be able to find affordable travel insurance for your needs , im liver cirrhosis now nearly 17 yrs ,non transplant i may add although I do get very fatigued, just place in when prompted all your health disclosure, I paid £60 for a weeks European travel that I'm going to fuertevenura in June that has covered me ,hope you find this helpful Best wishes linda
Hi Linda. thanks for your reply. We are travelling to Canada in September and worldwide insurance is so expensive! Just got a quote for £900 for an annual worldwide policy, Yikes! Also been offfered a much cheaper policy that excludes cover for my PBC which is tempting to be honest as I am totally sympton free, no tiredness or itching and my condition is considered mild. Need to shop around a bit more I think Kind regards Alison
You are most welcome! Yes I did the travel insurance comparison with ' paying too much " last year so I went with them again this year and also for next year ,I did the full health disclosure ,I am not awaiting transplant, the only issues I have are fatigue really ,I really hope you are able to find travel health insurance via this company 😊. My best wishes linda
My experience is that you must shop around. Quotes can vary enormously. My upcoming trip gave me quotes ranging from £154-£960 for 3 weeks in Australia! I use gocompare.com
I'm with stay sure. It was about £260 for an annual European policy last year which included my husband. It has gone up £100 this year, I'm about to ring them to find out why. It may be because I had breast cancer surgery.Helen
