RFA/experimental high-dose radiotherapy.

Has anyone experience of having dye injected into a liver tumour to make it more visible for ablation treatment?

Also has anyone been offered or tried an experimental treatment of high-dose radiotherapy to treat a liver tumour?

Thanks everyone.

I had a liver angiogram to inject dye into my liver before my RFA.

It was done as day surgery. I had to lie still for a few hours afterwards but was allowed home the same day.

Thanks. Was the RFA performed the same day, or did you need to go back at a later date?

My husband could be having this done for a tumour in segment 7 of his liver, we think it's two separate appointments.

Hope yours was a success. xx

The RFA was done about 3 weeks later. I had my daughters uni graduation so I asked them to postpone it till afterwards which was why there was 3 weeks in between. The ablation worked on one of the spots but they couldn't reach the other one. xx

Oh right, thank you. This is the second tumour for husband. First one was treated with RFA, they want to try and get rid of this one the same way. Apparently it's in an awkward place for RFA treatment though, under the diaphragm. May need to go in from the back. xx
