Hi I had a fibroscan this morning and previously ayear ago my kpa was 23.5 and today it was 14.3 kpa..I haven't touched alcohol in 14 years but was told they will discuss it and decide if its non alcoholic or alcoholic category which totally confused me as I don't drink alcohol..I had a ultrasound 6 months ago and the results stated fatty liver 2 which confused me as I was told last August it was f4 cirrhosis

What were your bloods doing at the time of your fibroscan last year? If you had ongoing inflammation with elevated blood markers the chances are your fibroscan result may have been falsely elevated - fibroscan notoriously can not differentiate between actual dense/fibrous tissue and inflamed liver tissue leading to falsely high readings.
Have you had 6 monthly ultrasound scans in line with the medical protocol for monitoring F4 Fibrosis (cirrhosis)? What have they revealed?
Healthy lifestyle changes with good diet and exercise is always good for bringing down liver numbers and amount of damage.

if you have not touched alcohol then it’s NAFLD but that reduction is good news, better to be going down than up, correct in that it is high but must be related to other issues. What are your bloods like, BMI etc. Any medications etc
My son had an iffy liver reading in 2012. A newly qualified Dr tested him for Alpha 1 anti trypsin deficiency which he tested positive for. Never heard of it before and our own Dr would never have thought to test for it either. Turns out I am the carrier and my daughter has it too. So many unusual conditions out there.
