I got some scary ELF and LFT in Feb this year - ALT Over 100 and retest showed it was rising + ELF just below the 10.5 marker. I was 15.5 stone with BMI 36 Was referred to Heptology - (still no appointment from there now). I went down a depressing Google rabbit hole as - (apart from this site) didn’t seem to get any support. I was suffering from severe insomnia and stress. But it scared me into action- I was reading I might be lucky to have a few years left ( age 50). But this did prompt me to suggest changes to my blood pressure medication from doctors - which they agreed with. I also used this site to help completely change diet and activity level. I had an ultrasound around 3 months later which showed fatty liver and reduced ‘echo’ but smooth and normal size no lesions. I am now 12 stone and loosing approximately 2 lb a week with blood pressure back to normal range ( so off blood pressure tablets) as a result of using my smart watch to ensure I hit my move goal and switching to low sugar salt foods and fresh foods wherever possible. I had my 6 month blood tests and all normal now so wanted to share that when I was first told ‘ oh eat healthier and Excercise more ‘ as there was no ‘treatment’ - I was devastated but actually seeing that this has really made a difference to my results was like winning the lottery. I know it doesn’t help everyone but I really looked for a post that told me I could possibly make a difference to my outcome and struggled to find that hope sometimes so wanted to share this. Now I am focused on being able to continue this and feel so much better health wise I have loads of energy and sleep so well!

It’s great that you had the sense, will and tenacity to turn things around for yourself. This is just the kind of feedback others who are struggling might need. And it’s all down to you - the person involved - it’s empowering to be able to help yourself wherever possible. Well done you.
