I was diagnosed with compensated liver cirrhosis 7 weeks ago. My blood work and ultrasound look ok. I have been having these sharp pains in my liver area and sometimes on my left side also. It only lasts 10 seconds or so. My specialist says its not a symptom of cirrhosis. She says it could be stress or anxiety from quitting alcohol. But I get the pain even though Im not even thing about anything. What do you all think. Im freaking out a little.

There are no pain receptors in your liver.
Upper right quadrant pain occurs when there is irritation to the glissons capsule, the tissue that surrounds your liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas. A sudden sharp pain that goes away quickly could be any one of a number of things and generally speaking longer term dull pain in the area or acute very persistent pain would be more of a concern.
Continue to abstain from alcohol, follow medical advice and (easier said than done) try not to worry. Livers are our bodies' most forgiving organ, they can repair, regenerate and continue functioning even when damaged if we continue to treat them with care!
