Ercp.

My mother is cirrhosis patient and due to minor bleeding spot under her stomach doctor recommend ERCP to heal the bleeding spots. I am worried because i search about ercp and google shows horrible things. Is it safe to do ercp? Please do reply

My hubby had one in 2021 as he had a gall stone lodged in his bile duct. He had the stones removed plus the mouth of his bile duct widened to prevent future blockages. His was done under a general anaesthetic.

Okay is it safe for cirrhosis patient to have ercp ? Because i google it and there i read it is very risky please if you have experience kindly guide

From personal experience with my hubbies situation it was fine and 100% necessary. He had cirrhosis and a gall bladder removal was impossible as it was fused to his currhotic liver so ERCP was done.

I had an ERCP in/ out then another ERCP in /out and once again until they got my bile duct sorted and although it’s a over night for observation no problem 👍.
