Hello,Im wondering how this whole suppressed immune system works?
My husband and I have got covid (6 weeks post TP for him). The whole household has pretty much had it all at the same time, but how will hubbys recovery differ?
Is he less likely to recover as quick, more prone to secondary infection, more likely to get it again straight away (whereas the rest of us will have an 'imunity' for a while)????
He is currently on 3mg Tacrolimus x 2, 1000mg mycophenolate x 2, 5mg pred.
Thanks

I am on similar levels (more pred) and it manifests in for me as I just get a bit sicker for longer than others, I am also on prophylactic anti-biotics and anti-virals. I recently got a cold that led to a bad throat infection I needed further anti biotics for.
Hi, you should contact 111 as he is eligible for antiviral treatment, this could be pills or an infusion. This has to be given within 5 days of testing positive. I'm 7 years post and have had covid twice, had treatment both times, only had it mildly, headache and sore throat..Good luck, hope you all recover soon. He is also eligible for all the covid vaccines, I've had 9.
Thanks Everyone, We did ring his transplant team and they didnt think he would need the anti virals, said just go to A&E if he gets worse.I was just wondering about along the line - what am i looking for?
He needs to get into clinic this week for bloods-which they said just ring if hes still got symtoms and theyll make another plan.
