I ate a lot of protein yogurts and did have protein drinks and bars. Speak to your gp or liver consultant about getting fortisip or something similar on prescription as these are good for building you up.
I come out of hospital last March just under 11 stone looking skin and bones, my ideal weight is 13.5 stone, I’m now 13 stone and it’s taken over a year to get to that and I still look skinny. It’s hard working putting weight on especially when you’re trying to eat healthily. My doctor said I’d struggle to put more on given the diet I now eat and that ideally he doesn’t want me going over 13 stone. I lost a lot of muscle mass so protein was and is key for me. I had to add 1.5g of protein per kilo I weighed and even then it’s hard to do that in a healthy way. Have you spoken to a dietician/nutritionists as they will be best to advise. Good luck.
I will,Your the same as me,i dropped to 11.1. Got up to 13.6. Now since the recent bleed dropped to 12.6
Annoying at 6ft 2 look like a pencil!!
I’m 6ft and although my BMI is the best it’s ever been, I look at myself and see a tall stick thin man. I’ve always had skinny legs which make things worse right now and I need a new wardrobe ha ha as lots of my clothes just don’t fit now or if they do they don’t sit on me well. I’m a 32 waist down from a 36 and large t-shirts wear as if they are XL. I do look good in a medium t-shirt though so small victories I suppose. My doctor told me to focus on my muscles to try and get them fuller, firmer and the mass back which seems to be easier said than done no matter what I do.
