What does it mean if you have too low sodium?

One of husbands tests has shown his sodium level out of range so have reduced his deuretics? Can anyone explain?Thanks

Hi they said my ferousimine was stopped cos I had low pottatisium so I got put on spirolacton but it don’t really work, 🤷‍♀️

I had low potassium a couple years back causing muscle cramps all I was told was to eat bananas which I do and have been fine since

Just had exactly same call from my doctor.. reduced and stopped various meds...had another blood test so waiting for call back

It seems quite common with both poor liver function and diuretics....

my partner (now completely off diuretics) has at time experienced low and high sodium. At one point his sodium was so low he was hospitalised and taken off all diuretics for a while. His sodium levels recovered and then after a while he was able to restart the diuretics with no further sodium concerns. So it doesn’t have to mean that he can never take diuretics again

Thank you. His does has just been lowered for now, as it had been increased back in June. Of course, hes just spent nearly 2 weeks in bed so his legs have less fluid than they have done for years!!

to be honest when my partner had awful fluid on his legs keeping them elevated made zero difference. It will be interesting to see if the fluid stays off once your husband is up on his feet again.
