my partner (now completely off diuretics) has at time experienced low and high sodium. At one point his sodium was so low he was hospitalised and taken off all diuretics for a while. His sodium levels recovered and then after a while he was able to restart the diuretics with no further sodium concerns. So it doesn’t have to mean that he can never take diuretics again
to be honest when my partner had awful fluid on his legs keeping them elevated made zero difference. It will be interesting to see if the fluid stays off once your husband is up on his feet again.
