I have done all this with diet and exercise ( not a enough) no medication at all . I have lost 2 stone ( 10% of my body weight) and plan to loose at least 2 more ideally 4 more , I eat 6 meals a day , at 67, I plan to go back to work ,I have been asked to go to Taiwan to build a 1980 Mercedes W116 from new parts,
I have also turned around diabetes I am now just in the pre diabetes scale

Changed to a very strict Mediterranean diet no salt no sugar no processed food, wash fresh fruit and veg. I was a massive cake and biscuits fan, got into a bit of a rut ,but gave my head a wobble and chaned to a very strict Mediterranean diet . With protein in the morning then my 10pm meal is carbs (usually cornflakes with oat milk ) you don't wake up tired as you body coverts to protein overnight. Still getting power outs around 3pm but I am up and about every morning at 5-6 am full of energy.
I would love to know your exact diet. My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis in November and we struggle with the practical eating part. It's wonderful to hear that you are healing. It gives me hope
I wouldn't say I I,m healing but I have stopped and further damage ,my liver is working normally , my 6am breakfast consists of bran flakes and weetabix (2) and 1/2 Lt of oat milk some in a americano coffee. Then at 10am I have low Gi bread (lidl) toast 2 chunky slices ) which whole nut peanut butter and another coffee with oat milk.
Fantastic news 👏.. I would love to start a Mediterranean diet..need to loose a stone as bmi slightly over .16 yrs living with cirrhosis from being at deaths door .
Hi Tonbolt, congratulations on your achievement. My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis in august 23. I would say he's stable and doing well, eating well etc. But I don't think his liver numbers are normal now. I was just curious whether you had any symptoms of cirrhosis. Were you decompensated? Or compensated? I know that everyone is different but I wanted to see if there some parallels to be drawn. My husband is about the same age as you.
After a horrendous 6mts not knowing what was going on ,I researched what to do ,as thr NHS not really interested .My last diagnosis was stage4 liver disease, my liver nurse is now saying my liver has compensated and working normally, my bloods are all normal and she has no concerns
Tombola/ Looby24, I would be in a similar position to you. 8 years since I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. I have reverted to compensated so for me it's, 6 months visits, for bloods, ultrasound. I do feel like, I have a death sentence on me, for me, it's because I still to this day suffer debilitating fatigue and right sided pain for which I'm on oxycontin (on reducing dose at mo). I'm happy the dosage is being reduced but I've always worried about affects on my liver but my bloods are normal mostly. It does really frustrate me which doctors say, yes all results as normal but when I explain my symptoms, they're just dismissed with same answer.... the liver can't feel pain, normal bloods, ultrasound so think yourself lucky BUT you do have cirrhosis so current symptoms/results can change at anytime. I'm off alcohol 7 years, no desire to drink again so apart from that, they feel, I'm compensated so no cause for concern. Here, in ireland, there's no mention of fibroscan etc. I've often asked, how bad is the scarring as is it minimum, maximum and the answer is, it's cirrhosis but you've gotten it back to compensated so it's good news.. and of course because I'm feeling so awful all the time, it's not anything news to my ears.... Well done on getting your bloods and to compensated. It's not easy getting there....
