gallstones?

I am 68 year old lady. Lots of digestive issues over the years, including perforated bowel from diverticulitis5 years ago . I am currently experiencing a pain on my bra line, right hand side, , almost feel like this area swells up , tender to touch, , bloating, upset tummy , and nausea. My doc thinks it’s gallbladder trouble. Can anyone tell me if this sound like gallbladder? Thank you.

Dear Gardeningbuff

This is a question that your own health care professional is best placed to answer, as only they have access to your medical records, no one on this forum can diagnose you.

We suggest talking this through again with your own doctor or a health care professional in the first instance.

Best wishes

Sorry , this was supposed to go on the bowel diseases board. I may be mistaken, but I thought these were forums where you could ask people for their experiences. My mistake. Thank you .

Hi Gardening buff, this could very well be gall bladder related - as your doctor suggested. In that case what follow up has he/she planned? A lot of ladies end up suffering from gall bladder issues.

The BLT has a page all about gall bladder issues at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

Of course you are ok to ask if symptoms are similar to those experienced by others but what admin was saying is that diagnosis can only come by way of your own health professional. Just because someone has similar symptoms it doesn't necessarily mean you have the same thing.

Your doctor should be looking into this further or arranging a referral for more tests.

Best wishes,

Katie

Thank you for that reply. I was a bit confused because I’m used to the bowel diseases forum. I didn’t realise I was even on the liver forum. Yes I know I need to go to my doctor I’m going tomorrow , I am in Australia so I can’t get to see my doctor till tomorrow and I just wanted a bit of reassurance I suppose. I suspect it may be a bowel blockage anyway I don’t know why I’d be so constipated. I have had bowel surgery six years ago. I’m just not eating much at the moment until I see my doctor tomorrow. I think that’s the safest thing. Thanks again. Most appreciated.
