I have had these symptoms about 5 times in the last 3 years and I will be discussing with GP when I get an appointment but in the meantime doe this seem like gallbladder/stones related.

1. Discomfort under shoulder blade on right side, bit like cramp or muscle strain, turning to ...

2. Pain under ribcage center to right that lasts for hours

3. Sweating/nausea and finally...

4. Vomiting

5. Slow reduction of pain after vomiting

Hi Manderson27,

I would recommend seeing your doctor as soon as possible so you can be referred for a scan. These symptoms are identical to those that I experienced just before being diagnosed with gallstones. I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago via keyhole surgery and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. The relief of knowing that I was free from the pain and the worry of wondering when the next attack was going to happen. Good Luck and hope you get things sorted quickly.

Thanks for replying. I have a phone consult with GP in a fortnight so hopefully he will agree to get me in and get a firm diagnosis so we can get it sorted. Why is it always in the middle of the night though.😥🤮

Hi Manderson,

It's Harvey from Canada, I have gallstones 15mm and 13mm and have same symptoms as you and my gallbladder need to be removed, I'm in the waiting list for surgery.

Night pain is when you eat late and go to bed without food digesting. I had midnight pain during christmas due to late get togethers and eating heavy food and go to bed without digesting. 3 times(deferent nights) I had severe pain under my right rib and same spot in the back that lasted for at least 4 hours. I was turning the positions and sides so the stones could move back to its place.

Its better you do your liver tests, as well as gallbladder.

Thank you for your response. I have been trying to see if there is any specific foods that kick it off but each time has been different foods. Can the stones move if you change positions and relieve it? only I would try anything at the time if it helps the pain. I eat about 7pm most nights so not terribly late. I get the food not digesting, that is exactly what seems to happen as the vomiting shows me (without going into the gruesome details)

EveningI had my hall bladder out some years ago.

Horrific pain, almost like having a heart attack.

Always at night .

Fried chicken was the worst for me.

I hope you get some relief soon ?

X
