I just wanted to bring a little sun in here and share a small win that I now believe is possible for others. My blood work has not been normal in more than 7 years (33 at that time) which is way before I found out that I had cirrhosis.
Ever doctor and physician I have seen since being diagnosed has said that my blood work will never be normal again. Something small like having normal blood work bothers me every time I get the results.
Well my recent comprehensive blood work came back and all tests came back normal, even my urine test which was new. I asked if he had the right file because that doesn't seem right. 😂 I just wanted to share this with everyone because I know this is an awful disease and I'm always delighted when I read small and large wins in our battle to keep our livers as healthy as possible.
I received this amazing news right before I found out that my wife and I are getting a divorce. 😳 I truly am starting over and I'm trying not to think about how if/when I do come up for needing a transplant not having a spouse may affect me being given the life saving opportunity. It reminds me of the old saying, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I hope you all are managing well!

Brilliant news about your bloods that’s amazing ❤️ But so sorry about your sad news that you and your wife are getting divorced this disease takes so much from our life’s and it puts a tremendous strain on all relationships I think that once a diagnosis is confirmed you should be offered counselling for both the person with the disease and the spouse as it puts such strain on even the strongest relationship I know from experience it’s so hard to watch the person you love just waste away.
So glad your bloods are good. I'm always told " as good as we expect for you" whatever that means. ( I'm going to ask when I see my consultant next week, lol). I'm am sorry, though, that your marriage has broken down. Having a chronic condition put such a stress on all the family dynamics and relationships, I know. Whether or not it contributed to your situation, I guess only you and your ex can work that one out. Take heart from being stable and well right now, it's a very positive thing to be. Good luck.
Great news about your bloods. Keep up the fight. I agree with Dobielove liver disease can put a big strain on our relationships. It can all become so consuming. I am sending you a big hug
Good news about your labs, just keep doing what you are doing, getting a transplant shouldn't be what you are thinking about, try to keep your liver as long as you can, possibly forever, transplants comes with it own issues, so good luck, and keep up the good work.
