knee replacement post transplant

Good morning all, I wonder if any one has experience of a total knee replacement post transplant please? My husband has needed this operation for about the last two years but because his liver was so damaged couldn’t have until his health improved. When came to the top of the waiting list last Christmas we got a letter saying that although he was now at the top of the list, sorry you’re too I’ll to have, let us know when you’re better 🥴. We are now at that point and I wonder if any has had similar experience also did they have full knee replacement with a “general” or local/spinal block? Thank you in advance x

Hi my husband had a total left knee replacement last year by epidural . He ended up with a wound infection and they needed to re-operate and they used a general this was after being told a second op would kill him snd he couldn’t have a general.

He came through that and despite at one point having his leg in a cast he never needed any physio.

Not had any personal experience but I know members of our Facebook group have had similar operations.
