elevated GGT
Hi jumpcat. I wouldn't be pressing the panic button just yet!!!.
Ggt is very sensitive.
Various things can upset ggt levels. Mine was drink that seemed to cause mine at its worst, just nuging 1000!!!!!.that was over 4 years ago, no drink since then.....so over 4 and a half years no alcohol.
Even so mine still remains stubbornly high,at 300 odd.
It certainly is not just alcohol that can increase our ggt levels.
Certain medication, diabetes etc can all play a part,my hep consultant says to me.
My best. Chris
I have at mist a glass of wine in the evening
mine varies between 300-400. But at 75 why worry. All the best
GGT is rarely used for a marker of injury, at least in isolation as far as I know. They don’t even routinely test it as part of a liver screen in my parts of the woods. As above its sensitive to all sorts, a dose of ibuprofen could increase it etc.
