Heya all, what was some of your tell tale signs of cirrhosis? Any early indicators?
cirrhosis : Heya all, what was some of... - British Liver Trust
cirrhosis
Liver disease is known as a silent one because your liver can go on for years sustaining damage without too many/any symptoms. Loads of folk don't know they have it till WHAM major decompensated symptoms.
If you have concerns about your liver health get an appointment with your doctor and get tested.
The BLT are currently running a big campaign including lobbying parliament about the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
It's pointless hearing what others symptoms were as every single liver journey is different, comparing symptoms doesn't get you a diagnosis or any treatment you need.
Get a GP appointment, explain your concerns, be totally honest about any risk factors you have and ask to get your liver health checked out.

One is the fact your asking and worried
Often, you will not have signs until the liver is far gone. Feeling poorly, tired, itchy hands (sometimes other places are affected), yellow eyes and skin from jaundice as your levels of bilirubin build up, pain in the upper right quadrant under your ribs, nausea, low blood pressure (systolic) or other disturbances in your blood pressure readings, feeling light-headed. As you get sicker, being unable to walk far, unable to keep food down, as your liver is simply too inflamed or dysfunctional, weight loss, bloating from ascites as fluid builds up, forgetting things.
