Hi all ..i paid privately for a fibroscan in spain last Dec..on the results page there were 10 values 1-10 all ranging from 1.16 to I.33. 1.5I was given an average of 1.33 F1 F2.
I wondered if anyone knows the ranges of this particular scale .please . Google can't help.
I wasn't given a Kpa number.
I've since had an ultrasound with great results...I don't want to pay or can afford to pay privately again for another fibroscan..but wondered where I fell I the range ....
I'm going to ask for a fibroscan but I'm unlikely to get that b4 Dec.
I really would like to know thx.
Ultrasound shows normal size liver no cirrhosis..gallstones nothing else all normal
😊 thx

Hey, maybe you got it wrong. You probably did not have a fibroscan, but a shear wave elastography (ESW). ESW measures the speed at which a wave travels through the liver tissue in meters per second (m/s). An ESW result of less than 1.5 m/s corresponds approximately to less than 6 kPa and indicates no liver fibrosis F0 or minimal fibrosis F1
Wow that's very interesting when I booked it I asked for fibroscan they called ut something else but said it was the same..do you know wgere I cab access a chart pls ..uts been driving me mad lol.I had an average if 1 33 they said F1 F2. Only three points were over 1.5
Sound like you had an ultrasound elastography and not a fibroscan. They are similar tests, but not the same. A fibroscan is done on a dedi ated fibroscan machine. I would caution that different machines have different parameters for their readings. In other words your m/s reading on a Phillips machine may not mean the same fibrosis stage on a GE machine,
Thanks..I was graded at F1 F2 by doctor who did the scan.I found a chart for that type of scan elastography ..would that be correct.
Since that reading scan in Dec..I've now j
Had an ultrasound by Centro de Salud NHS equivalent..all clear so I'm hoping my F1F2 improved maybe to F0 F1 as I had heterogeneous liver slightly enlarged on left lobe on previous scan.
