I was asked to take part in a Fatty Liver clinical research study and had to go through a number of pre tests to establish I was suitable for the study. After many blood tests/fibro scans etc I had a Liver Biopsy. Unfortunately, this showed I had Cirrhosis of the Liver and I was unable to go forward with the study.
After going with this to my GP, I was referred to a Liver Specialist.
However, my Specialist is saying I do not have Cirrhosis of the Liver? He has only done blood tests that show my liver is fine?
I am not sure what to do now, as surely (which I have told him) a Biopsy is far more comprehensive than a blood test?
Not sure where to go now? What treatment I should be having or not have?
I am feeling a little confused, specially as I DON’T drink alcohol?
