Today is the tenth anniversary of my liver transplant and, whilst I still have ups and downs with my health, I have enjoyed the abundance of life that that amazing gift promised to bring.
I remain in awe of the donor and their family for thinking of others in the rawness of grief, and of the skill and dedication of the surgical team that performed my miracle.
To the nurses and doctors on Todd ward at King's who made sure I was fit enough to leave hospital 12 days later, I salute you.
Thanks to my hepatologist at the local hospital who keeps a close eye on my health even to this day. I am your success story.
I thank my family and friends who were fervently and unceasingly praying for me throughout the operation and recovery.
Above all I thank God, because without His Grace I'd have never made it. I am secure in the knowledge that He hasn't finished with me yet!
To those of you still waiting for your miracle, it'll be worth the wait.
Life is good!

That's wondeful. Hearing that you are still well and enjoying life 10 years down the line gives a lot of hope and positivity to many on here. Me included. Wishing you many more. Holly x
Congratulations and may God continue to watch over you. I had my L/T at Kings 8 months ago and I was also on Todd Ward, I agree all the staff Doctors, nurses, surgeons and everyone involved worked a miracle and through prayer and the power of my faith in God I’m enjoying my new life. I will forever be thankful to my donor and his family who thought of others in there time of grief.
