i try and stay strong for my family but I'm terrified. 2 appointments with hepatologist but no mention of transplant yet. Been completely sober since the day Dr Wong told me I had 1-2 years to live. Seeing him again next month, any advice on what I should be asking him? I'm eating healthy vegetarian diet and 70g protein per day. Since May I've had 4 UTIs, 2 bouts of orbital cellulitis, I've fractured my little toe and now I have Covid. My bilirubin level raises with every course of antibiotics. Is infection my biggest threat to my life? I'm also 49 so having to deal with the onset of menopause with no HRT.

sorry you are going thru this, so have you talked to your doctor about what’s next you should ask him/her all your questions . Also if you can get a second opinion. Hope you get better soon. Hang in there.

Hi Emma, you poor thing. Menopause with no HRT is bad enough on its own without the other stuff. I only have mild fibrosis and my liver consultant was happy for me to use HRT, so that’s one question. Are you getting treatment for Covid- that’s probably the most urgent question as you’d need to take it within 5 days. Also ask if you could have Hiprex to prevent the UTIs because they’re just grim. In fact I wouldn’t wait to speak to your consultant, I’d get an urgent GP appointment, let the GP check with the consultant if they need to. Hope this helps

thanks so much for this information. I'm just waiting for the NHS to contact me regarding anti viral med. I hadn't heard of Hiprex I will get on to my gp regarding that. It's so nice to know I am not alone and others have similar issues. Thanks again
