I caught Covid from a passenger sat next to me on the plane despite wearing a mask, she was coughing and sneezing and even stuffing her used tissues in the pocket on the back of the seat in front of her, what a skank.
Anyway I had a course of antivirals and touch wood it hasn't developed into anything serious.
It's now 2 weeks since I tested positive and I did another test yesterday and I'm still positive, is this normal ? There doesn't seem to be any new info available about Covid despite the cases rising again.

Are you taking any immune- suppressants as apparently this can cause you to test positive for a while longer. My husband and I both caught covid together but I tested positive for several days longer than him and stuff I read on internet suggested that as a reason.
My daughter in law got Covid from her trip to Portugal . . She was like you she tested postive for two weeks it wasn’t until the end of last week her 3rd week she tested negative she been staying away from me until she tested negative. So I think this is normal . I hope you are better soon
I've had friends and family test positive for 14 and 15 days. My eldest son, has been positive for 12 days and is in self iso away from his AIH brother and the rest of the family as he started his Mycophenolate 2 weeks ago. I cant wait for him to stop coughing and be negative. Hes been really poorly with it and is an otherwise healthy young man. I hope you're better, and negative, soon x
Hi there,I tested positive for Covid yesterday, main carer for my husband, who is decompensated, so our daughter took over.
He has tested positive today, I took him for a hospital appointment last week, and towards the end of last week he said he felt awful, hot and cold ( he feels cold most of the time anyhow, even in lovely warm weather ) and a banging headache along with cold like symptoms. He has symptoms often anyhow, offered him a test he refused.
He has a very faint line so chances are he picked it up from the hospital, he’s most likely coming to the end of it, and he’s passed it on to me.
I hope you and everyone who has replied feels better soon. I get information on Covid from the Zoe Ap. It’s part of research run by Kings College London and one of the leads Tim Spectre is regularly interviewed on TV. One of the few reliable sources of info on Covid left
I did accept risks from the moment I boarded the train to the airport. I just would have thought that if the passenger sat next to me was feeling so unwell that she would have tried her very best to protect others around her.
Once you test positive it's more about symptoms than test results. It's very possible to test positive for several months after recovery (especially if a PCR test is used.
I am 17 days post covid and testing negative but still far from over it.
My wife is 15 days post, testing negative but coughing like a 60 a day smoker.
Both of us are OK to mix with others according to guidelines.
I don't think a test for cure is advisable or reliable.
Hi Katie, Yes that’s correct information, even though the virus is dead it can still be in the body and produce a positive PCR test.
I’m just using LF tests now and to be fair they are pretty accurate, there are exceptions, daughter tested positive for Covid on a PCR but negative on LF.
