Mine have been in the 40-45 range for the past 2 years before that 70 and 60 for 2-3 years then periods of normal right now ALT 37 and AST is 32 some scales would say this is normal but the lab I went to puts them elevated by 3 points but I’ve been dealing with elevated liver enzymes since 2014

How long have your liver enzymes been elevated?
Mine have been elevated since 2018, but have reversed my fatty liver,by low carb diet & exercise, but now my ammonia levels are high???
Abnormal and dodgy ALT/AST and GGT since early 2000's. 20 years later they started taking it more seriously with Fibroscan, triple phase CT and MRI
Anything found with the fibroscan? My dr thinks it’s from my Prozac since I was off it during pregnancy and they went to normal. I’m not much of a drinker only socially but I’m not social so maybe here and there and never more than two. I really hate hang overs and did a lot of heavy drinking in college. So I really slowed down. I have some sitting by the pool in the summer but still stick to two and not daily. I try to eat clean. I don’t want to go off the Prozac but idk
Probably 15 years of high results, all the tests done nothing found, now have left lobe atrophy and they are looking again.
Did they find what it’s related too? Did you drink alcohol in those 20 years? Take meds? Etc? Sorry for the questions
No definite cause found, I don’t drink alcohol and never have, I do take meds for ulcerative colitis and hypothyroidism, neither of which I can stop.
That seems to be where I’m at as well. I’ve had ct scans barium swallow scans endoscopy and ultrasounds. Now we’re just doing an ultrasound once a year to monitor and blood work every 6 months. They stick to the 30-40 range. Prozac may be the reason but I can’t go off of it. Mentally I am a wreck with out it
I have been dealing with Alt being 60 cutoff is 29 for the last two years and they fluctuate every couple months never going below 28.i had mri with contrast and Ct scan and fibroscan which was fine.I have ultrasound every 6 months shows no fatty liver and only a 7 mm nodule that has not changed.I used to take a lot of vitamins and supplements and liked to drink as well. Now I stopped taking supplements and rarely drink the last two years. I also think it might’ve been that I was getting bloodwork every month and liver enzymes can fluctuate if you over test as well.
Thanks for your comment. I do the ultrasounds every year I did a ct scan but that was awhile ago haven’t done a fibroscan yet. My dr seems to think that doing ultrasound each year is enough but idk. I haven’t drank much in the past few years other than some get together a and holidays
