How the devil are you all, still struggling every which way but loose....I bet. What a boring forum you have become!
Check this....Mr I'm hard as nails decided to help my cousin install my parents new bathroom and ensuite.... Wow I don't think I was ready 3 months post transplant. Whilst ripping walls, floor's, tile's up and identifying where dust comes straight through COVID masks I caught the common cold. The common cold is the plague when taking immunosuppressants, it soon persists into a viral condition gastroenteritis to be precise!. Rate laugh! So 3 weeks in with shivers and shxxs....boom there you go.... kidney failure stage 3 injury..... hospital for you Danny. I read somewhere this week that someone doesn't want to stop drinking well come and have a day in a life with me and I will gladly point out what you have wrong with you..... sorry this is my bent up frustration because my local hospital will not discharge me until my medication been agreed with Leeds and the onus is on them. This is the hospital that used to send me home with tramadol with the diagnosis of end of life liver disease..... jeez aloo!
Thanks for all your messages of concern.... love you all.
PS. Cheer up 😂. Danny x

My first Husband was like that, he'd take time off work and go and find some other work to do to fill the space, he had to be doing something - even if it was drinking in the local for most of his downtime and this is why he is an ex, lol 😣🤣
Well smooth liver decided ripping out bathrooms was too much. I’m new he said to brain. Get over yourself said brain. This is just a bathroom...just wait it’ll be boilers soon! Just then a little rhinovirus crawled out of the dust. Achoo he exclaimed, brushing a bit of tile off his head. What’s that said smooth liver, oh it’s rhinovirus said brain. He’s out and about to capitalise on the lack of restrictions. He’s been hiding for a couple of years in this bathroom. Oh no said smooth liver. Those immunosuppressants won’t help my cause today. With that rhinovirus jumped up to nostril and gave him a kiss. Get off said nostril, I don’t want bits of your saliva up this nose and with that nose started to sneeze. Gleefully, rhinovirus jumped down throat and kicked off a chain of events. Stomach woke up. What’s this thing he said. It’s rhinovirus said smooth liver. Oh heck, said stomach as rhinovirus started to do his stuff. Soon stomach was struggling and started to go green. With that bowels joined in. Whoosh, whoosh and legs ran at 100 mph to the loo. Oh no exclaimed smooth liver, we’re in for it now and everything in body went haywire. Body got himself into hospital and the probing and poking began. Blood had to leave for a bit of testing. Stool had to go too. Then a kind doctor shook his head and said more pipes and drains for you body. Smooth liver groaned and gave brain a hard time. If only you’d listened to me and given me a bit more time to get to know you all. With that brain apologised and started to dance to the circadian rhythm blues. May as well have some fun whilst we’re here smooth liver said brain. The sun was out and smooth liver and brain danced into the small hours. Yippee, I’m feeling so much better said smooth liver. Great said brain let’s get some breakfast.
Well that's the end of normality Aotea... hahahaha 😂..... Jacky and wacky backy! Wonder what pain killers are making you smile today! I'm always alright.....no one can keep a good kidney down. All rehydrated and ready for some sun!
Oh man Danny. I’m so sorry to hear that! Just from you wanting to do something that makes you feel normal. It sounds like liver sufferers need to wear p100 masks when spraying or sanding. I hope you get better soon my friend!
Agh, you can't catch a break over there. Sounds like you are where you need to be right now. I'm sure it's frustrating. You'll be home agonizing over how much sugar is in your breakfast cereal in no time.
Good to hear from you, Danny, even though not the best news. I was wondering where you were. We’ve missed you. Glad they’re taking good care of you but I’m guessing you’re missing your lovely breakfasts. Hope you get home soon.Take care x
Hi Danny got man flu , the trouble is no one ever believes us men as how bad it is 😂. Hope you manage to sort out that hospital, I know they do a great job but sometimes they should listen to the patient, but don’t worry your soon be out building your own house 👷(even though post transplant I’m sure they say don’t go lifting things or doing to much 🤔) . I hope I’m as fit as you when I get mine, good luck Danny hope all goes well 😊.Stay Safe All
So sorry to hear that. Suppose I'll have to wait now to get my bathroom done!! On a serious note, please take it easy. You have been through so much and I can understand you want to get back to normality. Knowing you, it will be somewhat difficult to take some time off. Hugs and thoughts.
Hi Danny, not going to say I told you so but...........Sorry about the kidneys mine have been damaged since soon after my transplant, only got 40 % kidney function but they're stable.
I've missed you for the last few weeks, I've been in Addenbrookes, went in for inscicional nernia repair( that's what it says on paper work) unfortunately surgery was far more complicated then anticipated and all my organs were stuck together and had to be peeled apart. LOTS of pain, I then got pneumonia and my lungs filled with crap, infection in the wound. Been home a week already had paramedics out and emergency trip to Addenbrookes as I'm bleeding through my skin. The surgeon held my hand and said we will get you through this .
I should have know things wouldn't have been easy.
Hope you feel before soon and get home, unfortunately life for transplant patients is different and we have to take care of ourselves
Wow Mum.....I hope you are feeling better.....xI generally thought I was ok. I caught the cold twice and kept taking the immunosuppressants. Introducing steroids and stopping tacrolimus seemed to do the trick. I needed some help to fight off the infection. You on the other hand.... organs stuck together....blimey Hilary, I'm sending you some love 💌♥️💯. I'll keep away from anything to strenuous as long as you take it easy....deal!
Wow Danny! I thought you must be really busy or enjoying a good holiday! Sorry to hear you've been stuck in hospital! Hope you get home soon (and take it easy!)
No, not heard anything more than this thread which was the last Danny posted on judging by his profile.Do hope he's doing ok after over doing things and putting himself back in hospital.
I’ve not heard from him either. I got a message from him not long after his last post and he’d been discharged. I assumed that he was enjoying the good weather and had gone travelling after that. His silence though is beginning to concern me too now. So if he’s reading this....post something to tell us you’re ok.
We are going to keep posting until you let us know you are doing ok man. A lot of people care about you and are thinking about you! Sending love my liver friend.
I sent him a PM but but no reply, which is a concern as he was so vocal on here. Tomorrow I’ll drive to his hospital, and do what I can to ensure he is ok without breaking his privacy. If the hospital tells me to “do one”, nothing much I can do.
No same here, please be careful , maybe wait till your feeling confident in driving, there really is not much we or any one can do for now .. here's hoping all is OK Thank you for your reply
I sent a PM on Saturday, no reply , yet he has always always replied in the past . I'm worried, but trying to think logically that he may not have a mobile phone or laptop maybe? .wasn't he in touch with Davy gravy on here? .. I'm sure they were outside of the forum.
I was in the vicinity today - sorry no info - sorry guys -it's up to Danny to update. I did ask , but was (IMO) rightfully told where to go due to privacy issues. Anyway - I hope he is ok, i have my own trials ahead 😑
Man i really hope you're just away from the site for a bit and are OK Danny. You gave me some great advice and encouragement when i first posted here and it did wonders to my morale
Hi DannyHope you are okay My lovely we are all worried about you hope you are doing well and just taking some time for yourself. You are missed not the same without your posts ❤️😘
