Fibroscan result 4.5kpa. So relieved

For those who have been assisting and following my story. I just had a fibroscan result of 4.5kpa. Much better than the last ultrasound shearwave elastography of 7.9kpa. Very relieved. Thank you all for the support.

Still no alcohol will ever cross these lips and am loving eating well.

So you're saying that your fibroscan improved from 7.9kpa to 4.5kpa? Congratulations?

May I ask - when was the reading of 7.9kpa made? What changes did you do in your life?

The first scan was an ultrasound shear wave elastography. It’s a different system to fibroscan. They did do a Doppler ultrasound and full liver ultrasound at the time. The second was a fibroscan. I was quite unwell and nauseous for a while and lost weight around 8 kg. When I was feeling better I continued to eat mainly salad, chicken , bean soups, oats and yoghurt. I lost another 7 kg. Mostly I stopped drinking totally. So weight loss and no poison was probably the key.

Glad to hear about your reduced liver stiffness score. I see that 4 months passed between the scans. How much did you drink before the first scan, and for how long?

About 3 glasses of wine a night fo 15 years. A year off for each child and some longer stints of 3 -6 months off here and there.

Sounds like you’ve been drinking only about 11-13 of the 15 years, depending on how many kids you have. Did you have any concomitant factors like fatty liver, hepatitis, etc?

2 kids , so yes that’s right. Yes, I have fatty liver.
