Quick bit of advice from anyone who may have experience of this. I’m two years post transplant (that flew by!!) and now seem to have an infection in a tooth. Apart from the fact that the pain is mad, and not fully controlled by paracetamol, are there any other concerns regarding the infection side of things?? Do I need to escalate it?? I do have a dentist appt for tomorrow!!
Thanks - mr grumpy!!

I've had a fair bit of dental work done post transplant including root canal work which similarly had a bit of infection to it.
There's no need to report it as far as I'm aware. I didn't anyway. My dentist does have a copy of the list of antibiotics that could have an interaction with my meds the hospital gave me when discharged, so I just make sure they double check against that list before they use antibiotics in their treatment. This doesn't usually cause any issues. Last time they treated the infection they just put the antibiotics straight into / onto the tooth anyway, I didnt even have to take any pills.
Depending on whether there is any inflammation the dentist may suggest some NSAID type pain killers. They may
not, but if they do you may need to remind them that you can't take those either.
Hope it goes well and is sorted without too many issues. Good luck.
