hi everyone, I am new to this. I have just come out of hospital after 3 weeks of being very unwell. I have had liver abscesses and I was in critical care. Now I am frustrated because I was so active, now I am getting a lot of pain, sickness and tiredness still. I feel like I am in limbo just waiting for the consultants to decide what to do? any advice, support would be grateful?
thanks

Having an illness that has put you in critical care for a time will take a while to get over. Your body will have taken a big hit and it could take a few months to recover fully. It certainly did for me.
If you are still getting pain though, it is worth getting this checked out with your gp just to be in the safe side. It may just be the lingering effects of the absesses, but best to get it check out even if its just for a bit of piece if mind.
Hi, that sounds nasty, I am sorry this happened and you needed to find us but everyone on here wants to support each other. Yes I would definitely check with your doctor. You would think they would get back to you very soon but if they aren’t I would chase and speak to your GP also. I know the liver works extremely hard for the whole of your body and it has just recently been bashed. I think (I don’t know) but it will take a little while to heal itself from an abscess, potentially poison for it and you will feel these symptoms for a good while. For now I would eat as healthy as you can, keep away from all the foods the liver struggles with like salt (even in tins etc..) obviously alcohol, processed foods, eating out and takeaways (unless you know them and you know there food if free from all that). Try and take some exercise, even just a short walk. Please let us know how you get on 🌻
Thanks😊yes I’m trying to eat healthy and walk every day . It’s just feels like I will not be my old self again?but I am grateful that I am out of hospital.and there are many others suffering right now .
