Hi all just been doctors today and not sure if I have a kidney infection or if I have pulled something anyway had bloods done so have to wait. I been taking paracetamol but he said to try something topical but he wasn't sure what I could use so just wondering if any of you lovely lot know as I am in need of some relief 😊
Advice please: Hi all just been doctors... - British Liver Trust
Advice please
I couldn’t find anything topical for my pain so I find the heat of a hot water bottle helps as it reduces inflammation and apparently decreases pain signals to brain lol it works for me anyhow 😊 I did find rubbing lotions drug free but they had a lot of aromatherapy oils in and my booklet said to avoid those x x Look after yourself jo x
Thanks Gaynor XX I will try that hope your feeling better
Nope still in pain feel like I’m in early labour lol xx
Oh bloody hell not good what have Leeds said
Cos my liver results are A ok they don't seem interested I'm seeing them again on 19 th Dec so will beg them on hands and knees to do something lol . I'm might even bribe them with Xmas prezzies 😀 Xx to be honest I'm just worried about the amount of pain killers I'm taking and the effects it could have on my liver. I didn't take this many after surgery . Anyway moan over hope everyone has a brill Xmas ☃ X
Believe me your entitled to moan they are slow on the ball when it doesn't concern the liver it's took me a year to convince them to refer me to a gynaecologist and finally got an appointment in January. And don't worry about your painkillers they wouldn't let you have them if they was going to cause any additional problems and here's to a wonderful Christmas xx
Sorry not too sure. Have you got a heat pillow or something like that you could put near the area that hurts. I take paras and codeine at night for any pain i have. Are you still on steroids if not can you rub some brufen cream around the area. Not much help i know but i hope it is nothing too serious and it sorts itself out soon. Merry Christms x😊😊

HARIBO!!!
Have you got one of those wheat or lavender heat bags that can go in the Microwave (as long as you don't put them in too long). That might help. Most other stuff is being careful what is in the contents unfortunately.
Warm water is an acquired taste but might help, especially if it is the kidney rather than a pull. Obviously for being good drinking boiled water you have to reward yourself. I think it must be at least two hairdo per cup.
Gx
hi i take it they have done urine tests i am on my 3rd kidney infection this yr never had them before then i was in so much pain but my dr did urine and z it showed infection so antibiotics cured it but i also have been manytimes with pain on leftside low down that i have associated with lifting heavy items hope u get sorted
Yeah had it done yesterday and I positive it's not a pulled muscle because I have been careful last few weeks because I have had a pulled muscle around my stomach and both are completely different pains as well feels like my kidney being kicked around lol hopefully GP will get to bottom of it by the end of the week but thanks and I hope you have no more problems x
Are things like deep heat/deep freeze creams ok when you have liver disease? Because they work well. So does tiger balm, but once again, I don't know how liver friendly it is...
Thanks but no can't use after transplant body absorbs them and then filtered through liver and not good for it I miss deep heat lol
Hi jojo , nice to hear from you hun. Well if that were me it would be hot water bottle.nothing drug related , not even herbal .cant go wrong with the soothing heat from a nice water bottle xx
Biofreeze it helps with pulled muscles and achy joints
Hi there Jojo. Hope the pain's better. Where is the pain? Below your tummy or on either or both sides of the area below your ribs?
Can you take brufen?
Kidney pain is felt in the area just below the ribs. If yours is above your buttock then it is not kidney related. Does it hurt when you bend forwards and backwards? what sort of pain is it? dull ache or sharp?
Does it hurt more when you press it? Is there a bruise? Could you have accidentally banged it?
If it worsens or continues best see your GP.
