Hi just looking for a bit of advice for analgesia.

I've got NAFLD cirossis stage 4.

I am suffering at the moment with a flare up of diverticulitis and need to take analgesia.

I know NSAID's are a no no , but codeine is that ok ? I've looked around for info but not really found an answer.

Ask your doctor.

Codeine is well known for causing constipation and if you have cirrhosis you need to be going to the toilet and moving your bowels regularly or you could end up with toxin build up.

Many patients with cirrhosis are allowed paracetemol but at a reduced dosage than for folks with healthy livers.

The best option is to ask your doctor, contact your specialists secretary and ask the question.
