Only Elevated GGT - Update to earlier post in March 2021

Eventually peace of mind 😃. In my earlier post this month, I was seeking information on only elevated GGT, all other enzymes normal. My GGT is usually around double the normal level over the years.

Anyway had extra blood test (Fibronostics) and saw the gastroenterologist today. It appears my liver suffered some damage in the past possibly due to infection or bad diet - difficult to identify root cause. The results now indicate no inflammation A0, some accumulation of fat S1 (minimal) and moderate scarring F2 from the past. So the reason for elevated GGT is due to past scarring.

Way forward is to continue workouts, eat clean and have the odd tipple now and again.

Interesting to know. Glad you now have peace of mind and nothing sinister to worry about. Now you can enjoy life more fully. Thanks for update :)

Thanks for the update. We are glad you are feeling better and have more information.

It is worth noting that as a UK forum, we would not recommend Fibronostics as a way to obtain diagnostic liver tests.

We would always suggest patients speak to their own NHS medical doctors and specialist teams about any liver concerns.

Thanks for the feedback. I spoke to my gastroenterologist who reviewed the results with me. The blood samples were analysed by a lab from a hospital. I’m currently based in Kuala Lumpur.
