I am waiting for an ultrasound scan for suspected gallstones. Has anybody lost weight with gallstones? I have modified my diet and cut out fats, rice, pasta and other foods that seem to provoke an attack.

Possible gall stones
Yes I lost 6 stone! Had mine out Tuesday and recovering...
With me it didn’t matter what I ate or even if I didn’t eat at all the knawing pain was there...
Thanks for your reply. Almost scared to eat as afraid of pain coming on.
Im curious, how long did you wait for your op? I got diagnosed a year ago, still waiting for removal dye to covid
Around 6 months. I also had chronic and acute inflammation that could be seen by CT. if I hadn’t had paid private initially I’d still be sat here in agony being told it was gastritis! have you got a consultant yet?
I have to say I’ve still got pain 😐... today being quite bad. Obviously this isn’t the gallbladder as I don’t have one so a tad concerned but pain in is same area.. middle upper central stomach. Nowhere near as bad a before though.
Wow, worth going private then definitely. I had considered going private for the operation but just around the time i done some phoning around they were all closing and staff going to help the nhs. Ive had a few bits of correspondence regarding appointments and tests from the same consultant so i assume so, however im told varying things all the time as never see the same person twice in a&e, so god knows.
Oh i really hope you start to feel better soon, its such a tiring pain isnt it. How has your recovery been otherwise?
Hey how are you today? I would find who tout consultant is and ask... recovery is ok, have a lump in my belly button and it’s tender and a still have the pain which I have an appointment for with a consultant. Other than that all ok.
I was petrified of the op, but being put to sleep was nice, and waking up ive never felt so happy! I even shouted I’m happy 🤣, then burped loud lol.
Please fight for yourself and keep on to them x
Yes I lost loads of weight! Like dogmanpam it didn’t matter what I ate or drank it got to the point where I was constantly having an attack
Yes, 20 pounds so far. Pretty much everything I eat causes some pain. Worth making notes so you can pinpoint what causes trouble, it’s not always what you’d expect.
I can see our forum members have offered useful tips .

It is possible to have gallbladder issues without it being diet related. I understand being scared to eat because it might set off an attack, but I was advised after removal of the gallbladder to eat " beige" foods, such as pasta, rice, potatoes as they are least likely to set off an attack. Try to eat as well as you can, since this will help you to recover better after surgery.
I didn't have any gallstones, just chronically inflamed gallbladder, but still had several attacks, hence my saying it's not always diet related.
All the best.
Hi there I lost 2 stone thanks to gallstones dairy for me triggers an attack, fried food even fizzy water !!! Going without food for long periods can bring attack on x
Thanks for reply.
My gallbladder has caused me pain for 14 years,it’s not diet related. Years of ultrasounds never found anything, the pain was unbearable I was just told can’t do anymore. No they have found gallstones and I can’t have it out because of Portal hypertension!!
Lost 6st 6lbs. Diagnosed in may 2020. Still waiting for my surgery
