hypoalbuminemia With cirrhosis indications..

What is the indication of hypoalbuminemia?

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis on 17/02/21 I.e exactly 1 month ago. I had quit alcohol two weeks before the diagnosis. I have kept balanced diet and also vitacap supplements. My blood tests are good and the LFT has greatly improved. For the past one week I have been eating chicken and fish daily,interchanging btwn meals..daily yoghurt and a banana,daily watermelon juice and coconut water now I realize white rings on finger nails (hypoalbuminemia)..did I mess up?and feel like I have added some weight,currently Am in the coastal city with high temperatures and humidity,I sweat a lot and drink lots of fluids,sometimes I feel slight headaches . Please anyone with info on hypoalbuminemia Advise me..

Have your blood tests revealed low albumin levels? You say your bloods are good and LFT's improved greatly.

Low albumin is a common occurance in more advanced cirrhosis and can lead to fluid retention. healthline.com/health/hypoa...

If your bloods haven't showed low albumin then you are diagnosing yourself with an issue you probably don't have. Finger nails can change with cirrhosis due to poor circulation, poor absorbtion of minerals etc.

You'd be wise to try and see a dietician (preferably one with expertise in liver conditions) so that you are eating appropriate foods to get your required calories, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Thanks for the advice and for sharing the BLT link. I did my last blood tests 10 days ago,might be some changes might have taken place in my blood or maybe Am diagnosing myself of what is not there,though the rings are visible on my nails.
