Hi, I've had middle back pain and right side under rib pain, occasional itching and bitter taste for over three years, had gallbladder removed and all symptoms remain, ct, mri and ultrasound, liver function all clear. Any ideas

Have you ever had an endoscopy? Similar story for me minus the GB removal. Think my doctor suspects gastritis which can sometimes be chronic. I've also heard that the sphincter of oddi can be stressed when presenting with gb issues. It's a muscle that releases bile into the intestine. I suppose it's possible that something is a miss there. Would also cause ruq pain. Difficult to diagnose from what I understand though. Hope you figure it out mate. Trying to do the same myself through process of elimination with my doctor.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I suspect SofO may be an issue, lots of gurgling right upper quadrant. It's very frustrating.
