I'm doing rather good. As some of you might remember, I was diagnosed with decompensated liver cirrhosis some time ago.
My liver is in compensated state now, I'm very thankful for that. But an appointment at my doctor's yesterday showed that I now have developed some gallstones. Due to time shortage she wasn't able to explain a lot to me. Just suggested eating clean, cutting down on fat and sugar.
I've read a little bit about gallstones and seems like patients with liver cirrhosis are more prone getting them. Has anybody of you ever had any problems and how could they solve them?

I never had gallstones prior to diagnosis of NASH F3. I began having issues with nausea and pain in the upper right back. Abdominal ultrasounds and a HIDA scan didn’t show any problem although gallbladder issues were suspected by my liver specialist. Eventually I had a serious gallbladder ‘attack’ and went to the hospital ER. Liver enzymes had elevated and also lipase and I was diagnosed with acute gallstone pancreatitis. I had surgery the next morning to remove the gallbladder. Following surgery, lipase returned to normal range and liver enzymes improved again. Prior to the surgery, I felt intense pressure / squeezing just under the breasts and it circled my entire body. The pain and pressure did not ease up at all which is why I went to the hospital. Previous episodes had not lasted long, but were short feelings of pressure.
No, but that’s probably because there was no choice in my case because of the pancreatitis. The surgeon said pancreatitis can be life threatening and the gallbladder had to come out.

I don’t have liver issues ... well not that CT and ultrasound have shown but my bloods are awful For liver function ... but I am waiting for emergency surgery for removal of my gallbladder. Called the QE today and all gallbladder removal surgery is on hold 😣. I’ve been in pain for 6 months. My gallbladder is chronically inflamed and large gallstones. Anyone can get gallstones and middle aged women especially so my gastro told me. In fact as soon as I sat in front of him he said you are female and late forties... this pain will likely be gallstones. He was right!
Apart from eating clean I can’t think of anything that helps. The only way to help gallstones is either removal or to manage the pain stopping eating fats or sugars...although I get pain even if I haven’t eaten a thing.
