Hi so just updating. I posted previously about alt 42 and ggt 216. I had my ultrasound last week: told me no fatty liver which is good. She was really good, there was two of them as one had just recently qualified so she was doing the ultrasound and the lady was observing. She told me a lot while I was there, said she can’t see any problems with liver. Gallbladder, bile duct, kidneys etc, she was on me for ages as couldn’t get good view of bile duct straight away. she said my gp will probably send for new blood tests. But she said maybe it was just on the day that I wasn’t feeling great and my ggt spiked or infact it was my ibuprofen I had been taking. When they had finished they told me everything had been told to me so nothing on there that hasn’t been told, so no surprises and no need to rush back to gp but will get results from doctor within a week.

While I was there I did have uterus and ovaries checked as I’ve been spotting and did say one of my tubes looked like it had fluid in, not sure if that’s maybe related to my high ggt or not 🤷‍♀️

I’m relieved but also wondering why my ggt was elevated. So I’ll see what gp says about next blood test, although I think I’ll be put on antibiotics for my Fallopian tube as may be infection 😓 so might raise my levels again 😂

Good news so your name lucky is appropriate ha. We are not to comment on test results or bloods as its against the rules, but certain medications like the ones you mention can raise certain functional tests. But glad the team spent a lot of time on this.. good news

Anti inflammatory meds like ibuprofen are well known for causing liver test markers to elevate. Did you tell your ho you were taking ibuprofen when you had your original tests?

I would imagine your doc will advise you not to take it and then redo the blood tests.

Hi no I didn’t he assumed I drank a lot of alcohol 🤦🏻‍♀️ . But doctor knew but sent me for ultrasound as I had obstetric cholestasis while pregnant so wasn’t sure if it was linked x

Ok, when you go back just mention the ibuprofen. If there is a need for you take an anti inflammatory then maybe he can advise one that has less of an impact on your liver, or an alternative means of pain relief. Hope it all clears up for you soon. From the ultrasound results you mention it all looks positive anyway, so hopefully it is something as simple as yours meds.
