Hi does anyone take ibuprofen that has pbc ? I am full of cold and swollen glands taking paracetamol but wanted anti inflammatory to help with swollen glands ?

I do, I’m allergic to paracetamol so take ibuprofen instead. I’ve never been told not to take it but I keep it to a minimum, and only take it when desperate.

Hi Shezza,

Normally with liver disease you are advised to steer clear of Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatories, in particular ibuprofen. There may be exceptions, such as in Rosemadder's case, and in certain circumstances it may be an acceptable risk. However, to be sure in your case, I would suggest you either speak to your GP or any pharmacist before starting to take ibuprofen.
