Hope you are all doing well and surviving the strange summer weather.
My planned telephone consultation with the Liver nurse yesterday was unfortunately but unavoidably cut very short as as major incident was declared in Aberdeen and all staff were on red alert to help in A & E if required.
She did advise that my 6 monthly ultrasound would be rescheduled for another 6 months making it a year since the last one. As I haven't had any bloods done since January, she did say she would write to my GP to request they do bloods when possible. She mentioned that they would like to see a further improvement in Bilirubin levels at next test. In January my Bilirubin had reduced by about 80% since my cirrhosis diagnosis 9 months perviously but was still slightly out of the normal range.
I just wondered if those of you living with cirrhosis but are now alcohol free had levels return to "normal" and if so, how long did that take ? My GGT has followed a similar path, very good improvement but still slightly above normal at last test although this was not seen as a cause for concern.
I should mention I feel pretty well and stable but there's nothing like a medical appointment to start a bit of health anxiety !!

Oh Laura, what a year indeed. For the past few years my Hubby and I have said, Oh well, perhaps this will be a better year. But Nope. Things have just gone from bad to worse. My Hubbies not too good. He's got numerous health ssues .I've been hospitalized 4 times since Christmas. Then our Eldest Son was rushed into hospital on July 17th ( My Birthday ) he had Emergency Surgery. Two weeks later I had a phone call from the hospital that our Son had been in. I was to have MRSA and Coviid 19 swabs taken on August 4th for Emergency Abdominal Surgery on August 7th. Our Son is on the mend . 🙏. I am also back home 👍.Im hoping that things have changed around now. Because our Granddaughter sent me a picture of her scan. She's pregnant. Shes having a little Boy. They didn't think that she could have a Baby because she's got Polycystic Ovaries. .So no matter how hard the hill is to keep climbing. We have to somehow keep going. This Little Fella will be our 10th Great Grandchild. 6 Boys 👶👶👶👶👶👶 and 4 Girls 👶👶👶👶. Take Care Laura and Stay Safe 🤗 xx
Thankyou Laura. can't wait to cuddle him. By the time the little Fella is born my stitches should be all healed. Then I can give my Granddaughter a CWTCH and the little Fella a cuddle. ( Or Vice Versa ). Glo xx
