Got awful upper back pain between shoulder blades and lower and in my right side under ribs. The liver can't cause pain and ct scan shows my gallbladder is "fine" I feel like death.. all I want to do is lie down and sleep. September feels like a lifetime away for my app.

Liver pain is felt in back. It can capsular pain (fatty liver touching the membrane around it).

Good morning,

Is your GP aware of the amount of pain you are in - you should certainly inform him/her . They might be able to help get your appointment brought forward if necessary.

regards

Yes I told them the pain I'm having, they just prescribed me amytripaline... didn't do much! I keep phoning hospital booking line every few weeks to chase it up so they don't forget about me.

I have had back pain and right side shoulder pain since having cirrhosis. I also lost a lot of muscle and connective tissue and tentative was told of osteoporosis. Since then I have been prescribed 2000 units/day of vit d and Have done some light resistance training with gym bands so have slowly built some muscle in the shoulder area. The pain is still there but worst at night this I have managed with meditation and have used an excellent app called calm to stay off painkillers. Hoor this is useful to you

Hi

I too have this. My consultant said I have very enlarged liver which stretches the capsule around it causing pain. It is under ribs, going through to back, also right shoulder and in-between shoulder blades is also very painful. As well as pain killers I use hot water bottle and electric blanket, then fan on full pelt so I don't get too warm!!! Hope you manage to get an earlier appointment. Take care and stay safe Lynne
