Never heard of the orange colour that rubs off - I take it your fluid isn't leaking from your legs? Sounds very much like you are developing oedema and sound pretty urgent that you are seen medically.

Katie

Good afternoon Bjw7.

If your symptoms of swelling persist , may I suggest you seek medical advice- your doctors will be able to assess you and perhaps prescribe appropriate medication to manage it.

With regards to the orange colour , I cannot offer any solution- other than excess consumption of carrots or other orange foods (Carotenemia) , again, you would be best placed to be assessed by a doctor.

Take care,

Hi Bj,

I remember reading somewhere in the past that hemochromatosis can cause bronzing of the skin but I don't know as it can be scrubbed off.

Regards.

I have it and it is oedema . You need to see doctor she has goven me support stockings up to my knees. Bit warm in summer but do keep swelling down and you need to keep your legs raised as often as you can. Hope this helps

Hi I have hereditary hemochromatosis under control glad to say,my father was always a bronze colour we used to think that he had a great tan(live in UK so highly unlikely)at the time not much was known about the condition as it transpires his iron levels were out of control leading to the bronze colour you need to get your iron tested as a matter of urgency.how my consultant described the condition is ,put a nail in a bucket of water and see what happens that's what hemochromatosis does to your inner body.hope this helps.good luck

Hi Bjw7

Sometimes lymph can leak out alongside other fluid in peripheral oedema. The protein in lymph is amber coloured and may well be the explanation here. Really glad you're seeing someone tomorrow. Looking after any breach of the skin as well as managing the swelling will be critical in resolving this.

Keep us posted

Very Best Chris
