Hi C,

I hope you will try again to give up drinking, it's not as easy as some people would have you believe. For one thing, it dulls any physical pains you may have, including those caused by alcohol.

Get yourself to a virtual AA meeting. l know you didn't mean to drink, but it's going to be okay, take a deep breath and quit again. You can do it! And every time you try and fail is one step closer to success!!!

Giving up drinking was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It was also one of the best things I’ve done.

Don’t waste your life, Cashiee. Yes, right now is a crap time, but sorry to say drinkers will always find a reason to drink. I had all sorts of aches and pains (and normal LFT results), but they stopped when I quit.

The sign of madness is to keep trying the same thing hoping for a different outcome!!

Your not stupid but the body is. It takes pleasure from drinking and that replaces all the other things that really are important. No threats will make you give up.

If you had something you felt more responsible and grateful toward, you may be inclined to change. Go to jw.org and look up alcohol. A more meaningful life easily replaces alcohol, well not easily because everything worth it’s salt needs fighting for as you will see.. I look forward to hearing of your progress!!!

If your bloods are fine then your liver isn't inflamed & any pain you feel is likely to be something else e.g. gallstones, gastritis, peptic ulcer etc.

As others have suggested try again to give up alcohol. If you did it before you can do it again. See if you can find better ways of coping with anxiety like exercise, learning to relax etc.

I start my day by listening to a meditation audio by Jon Kabat Zinn that I downloaded from YouTube. Go to YouTube & do a search for Guided Mindfulness Sitting Meditation by Jon Kabat Zinn. I exercise daily walking on a treadmill. I try to get out of my house & do something outdoors. I have numerous interests that I enjoy. What works for me may not for you. I've never been a heavy drinker but I'm anxiety prone & I've used alcohol to relax but not anymore. The downside is too great for the little relief it gives you.

There's a booklet (the Grow Blue Book) produced by an organisation called GROW which outlines strategies for recovering from things like alcoholism, mental breakdowns etc. You can download a PDF copy (vdocuments.site/download/gr.... It's full of basic homespun wisdom & strategies to do with coping with life's difficulties.

Cashiee keep your chin up, dont let one blip set you back, it happens to the best of us, especially with what's going on. I cant tell you nothing you dont already know, but I do know, being a alcoholic myself nothing good comes of drinking, so do what you can, you've done it before you can do it again. You need to talk feel free to vent, lots of us are in the same boat or have been. Take care ok. All the best

Ashley

Try Allen Carr’s “easy way to control alcohol” read all the way through, don’t skip through and re read

Hi Cashiee

I'm still behind you as we all have different weaknesses that this isolation is bringing out! The key here I believe is to keep busy and to feel good after whatever you've done and to drink lots of tea, coffee or water!
