My first attempt at my incisional/umbilical hernia operation was due to take place last Monday but was cancelled due to โlack of a bedโ.
However it was swiftly rearranged for tomorrow, Monday ๐.
It has now- yesterday at 4pm - been swiftly cancelled again...๐... ๐. This time is because of QEHB being reorganised - facilities wise at least - so that it can better cope with the Corona virus situation.
This to my mind is very understandable and welcome news I think - in some respects maybe it should have been done sooner - but it is easy to criticise and must have been a hard decision for them to make. The on duty doctor - the poor chap who was given the unpleasant task of telling patients that their operations were cancelled - said that even some cancer operations were being cancelled.
I reckon we have all got our fingers well and truly crossed that by some miracle we escape the worst of this. Oops I know I am not supposed to speak about Corona but this is more about the impact on us liver patients with ongoing issuettes. Iโm quite sure - just imho - that TPs will not be affected.
Good luck all!
Miles
Edit - QEHB rang me at 0715 just now and said โWhere are youโ ๐๐. No-one has told Admissions - aah well. Sort of goes to show that even at a Hospital as good as QEHB things are suffering.....

Still, I am sorry your op will not go ahead. Jaycee
Thanks freddy. He said someone would call me on Monday - but I think he was just trying to be nice ๐. Actually though he was so nice and apologetic - poor chap. He said I was first on his list and he was grateful I took it so well. Hehe! I mean one has not exactly got a lot of choice ๐ but I did my best to be polite - donโt want to get told off again by someone who shall remain nameless - actually I have forgotten who it was - was it you filly ๐๐?
I did not envy him - thatโs for sure. He told me he was the on-call doctor and had just handed over at the end of his shift and was then asked can you just.....Poor doctor ๐
They've washed their hands of you meantime.
Every man has a burden to carry And some seem to carry it very well While others complain about the burden and strain.
Hope & pray that no-one has to wait longer than necessary for some positive news on this ๐ท unmentionable topic ๐ค๐ค๐
Well, I have washed my hands too. Now the question is does the singing of Happy Birthday to you - twice of course - have to be done whilst your hands are under running water, or in the sink, or just rubbing your hands in the air with soap and water and then just rinsing your hands off.... See the sort of stupid things that go through my brain when Iโm stuck at home! Daughter says Iโve got too much time to think. Do you know she might well be right .......๐๐.
So I needed to make a grocery run, shelves are practically empty!๐ฎ But traffic was clear sailing. ๐Going to reduce open hours soon, this could get interesting! ๐
So sorry it was cancelled but it's understandable why. Hope some miracle does come through soon. Take care Lynne
Well he said someone might ring me today but if not - read that as when not ๐- to ring tomorrow. But we both know - well I know and you know and Lynne knows and freddy knows and...and........ and everyone knows - that the answer will be a lemon...
Hope his op (second op?) goes well ๐ค. Was it after a Transplant?
I eventually had mine in October last year. Body has reacted to the mesh so Iโve got to have another op - minor Iโm told ๐ ๐ค- this Tuesday. Hope thatโs it then for me ๐๐.
