My first attempt at my incisional/umbilical hernia operation was due to take place last Monday but was cancelled due to โlack of a bedโ.
However it was swiftly rearranged for tomorrow, Monday ๐.
It has now- yesterday at 4pm - been swiftly cancelled again...๐... ๐. This time is because of QEHB being reorganised - facilities wise at least - so that it can better cope with the Corona virus situation.
This to my mind is very understandable and welcome news I think - in some respects maybe it should have been done sooner - but it is easy to criticise and must have been a hard decision for them to make. The on duty doctor - the poor chap who was given the unpleasant task of telling patients that their operations were cancelled - said that even some cancer operations were being cancelled.
I reckon we have all got our fingers well and truly crossed that by some miracle we escape the worst of this. Oops I know I am not supposed to speak about Corona but this is more about the impact on us liver patients with ongoing issuettes. Iโm quite sure - just imho - that TPs will not be affected.
Good luck all!

Edit - QEHB rang me at 0715 just now and said โWhere are youโ ๐๐. No-one has told Admissions - aah well. Sort of goes to show that even at a Hospital as good as QEHB things are suffering.....
