Hysterectomy

Hi

I am due for total abdominal hysterectomy and ovary removal at the end of this month and will force me into surgical menopause. Just wondered if anyone else on here with liver problems had undergone this operation and whether it had caused any issues with their health?

Thanks

I don't have liver problems but have had a hysterectomy ... 12 years ago when l was 46. Made a good quick recovery, took things easy but yes, instant menopause. Until l went on HRT pretty soon afterwards, l found shoving my head in the frozen veg in Tescos was the best remedy for the hot flushes !

Hope all goes well for you. I'm sure if there were likely to be problems, they wouldnt risk the op. Just make sure you take on board any advice your consultant gives you.

Best wishes

Laura
